We've re-engineered the CoB,O to make it easier and more enjoyable for us (and hopefully you) to visit the site. For awhile, both the old and new pages will run simultaneously, however the "old style" CoB,O won't be updated. Eventually the "old style" will disappear...

You can visit the new CoB,O at http://www.cobo.org/index.php

Atlanta, GA and Detroit, MI tickets go onsale October 6th at 10am.

According to the Neal Travis of the New York Post:

The first full-scale ball since the disaster will be the annual Rita Hayworth Gala, at the Waldorf-Astoria Oct. 9. The surprise guest is Jimmy Buffett, who'll perform some of his very American songs for an audience including Dan and Donna Aykroyd, Anne Hearst, Joe Namath, Marty Richards, Martin and Cornelia Bregman, Sale Johnson, and Kathy and Rick Hilton. Tables are $50,000 a pop, with the proceeds going, as always, to the Alzheimer's Association. But the evening's hostess (and the late Rita's daughter) Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, is also going to write a large check for the relief of the families of WTC victims.

In support of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund, from now until 1 January 2002, Shark Eye Productions will be donating 10% of it's gross sales (excluding shipping and taxes) to the American Cross Disaster Relief Fund. So, if Parrot Heads are looking to buy party stuff for concert season, parties, the upcoming Christmas season, etc. they can make a contribution to the American Red Cross just by buying those things from them.

It is confirmed that there will be new artwork for Far Side Of The World.

Margaritaville pulled the cover art for Far Side Of The World off its web site yesterday. This has led to discussion whether they are redesigning the artwork in light of September 11's tragedies. You may cast your vote in the new poll to the left and read (and enter) the discussion on the bulletin board.

Just a reminder that old polls are still accessible...

Tom Jernigan posted the following to the Margaritaville web board: The tickets for the Peconic Montessori Benefit Concert go on sale today. The concert date is October 13, 2001. This is the annual solo concert that Bubba gives to raise money for the school. There is a silent auction held after the concert.

This year's concert is again in Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY. Guild Hall seats 299 people, but at last year's show tickets were sold the night of the show for standing room. Ticket prices are $1000.00 for front row (14 seats) and the 4 aisle seats on the second row. The remaining seats on the second row are $500.00, and I believe the general seating is $250.00, but don't quote me on that because I didn't ask.

East Hampton is an easy 45-minute drive from Long Island's MacArthur airport in Islip, and if you're near a Southwest Airlines city you can get some cheap fares.

After the concert, Roger Bartlett (former Coral Reefer) is performing at a post-concert party at a bar just up the street. Bubba does frequent this place so you never know...

The Montessori School ticket hotline is 631-725-4788. If you get an answering machine, leave your name and phone number, they will call you back.

The Boston Globe has an interesting yet factually inaccurate article For Mellencamp, music is its own reward about musicians (JB is included as an example) refusing to perform new songs before albums are released. "'The guys who worry about that stuff have more money than anybody. I mean, Jimmy Buffett has more money than God,' says Mellencamp."

Enough said. Enjoy the preview.
