We've re-engineered the CoB,O to make it easier and more enjoyable for us (and hopefully you) to visit the site. For awhile, both the old and new pages will run simultaneously, however the "old style" CoB,O won't be updated. Eventually the "old style" will disappear...

You can visit the new CoB,O at http://www.cobo.org/index.php

According to the June 2002 issue of Longboard Magazine, Margaritaville Tequila has signed on as the overall sponsor of a new Longboard Magazine Championship Tour for both men and women's surfing. The July issue is promising to include a contest tour event program for 2002. Also, Margaritaville's sponsorship is enabling the magazine the resources to produce a one-hour documentary video of the 2002 Tour, for release before the end of the year. First tour event is scheduled for August 17-18, 2002 at Oceanside, CA. Thanks to Brett Bigelow

We received this email this morning:

A man who goes by the name of Michael Bloomberg is using this site to obtain the phone numbers of ticket buyers. He claims that he worked for Jimmy Buffett doing some PR work, and he has pavillion seats for the JB concert as payment for that work. This guy calls you, and states that he will overnight the ticket to you and you wire the money to him via Western Union. That is what I did and no tickets!! So, my loss but I am passing this jerk's scam off to you so that you can avoid the loss. He picked the money up in Miami where it was wired. He also requests that no ID be presented when he picks up the money. He is a white male living in the Miami area. When he calls, he will tell you that a friend of yours told him to call you. Tell him to get lost! If this has happened to anyone else, please email me at bumatbeach@yahoo.com. Perhaps with a little help from some parrotheads, we can catch this jerk before he takes someone else to the cleaners.

If you have a Playstation, you will soon be able to join in Jimmy Buffett's Deep Sea Fishing.

Doyle Grisham's newly formed band, The Bandits, is currently available for booking. In addition to Doyle, the band is made up of a truly award-winning group: Jessi Welsh on vocals, James Ducker on songwriting, vocals and guitar, and Katrina Rawls on fiddle. This group along with drummer David Bradford and Wes Fitzhugh on bass guitar covers plenty of Buffett songs along with plenty of original Buffett and country sounds. Amy Lee also does some dates (depending on availability) with the group. The price structure ranges from $1000 - $3000. Anyone interested in booking the band should contact Audry Craft, toll free, at (866) 984- BAND(2263).

Rick Garner noted the re-release of Tales From Margaritaville with a new introduction by JB:

Jimmy basically said that he'd been asked for a new intro, and recent used bookstore experiences had given him new insights into the immortality of the author. He said that during one recent long island visit, he'd been a regular shopper at the small native store, and the owner had called him it to show him new additions to the used book bin. Among the collection was "A Purple Place for Dying", the only John McDonald Travis McGee novel that Jimmy had yet to read, so he'd quickly snapped it up. He also said that he'd been considering the fate of Tully Mars, and once more hinted that we'd be seeing more of him in the near future.

Washington, DC classic rock station WARW 94.7 held a listener poll then counted down the Memorial Day 500 favorites over the weekend. There among the Floyds and Stones and Zeppelins, looking strong at #58, was Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville." Thanks to Mike DeGraba

You can vote in the new poll to your left. You've had a couple months to listen to Far Side Of The World-so what's your favorite song? The results from the previous poll point towards a very satisfying setlist, even coming from the CoB,O.
