The Boston Herald reports that Jimmy saw Ragtime at the Colonial Theatre last night.

Looks like the rumored March show in Toronto isn't going to happen, but how about May? Seems like he wants to come play the Air Canada Centre in May... Thanks to Lyle Wetsch

February 27

Jerry Jeff Walker has asked Jimmy to write the foreword for his new autobiography Gypsy Songman.

WCBO Reporters has been updated with three new reports, including one from last night's show.

February 26

The Boston Globe has an excellent article on Jimmy's new album: A Winter's Tale.

As little parrots had been whispering in my ear all week, the reason Peter Mayer cancelled his March 5th show was not to join Jimmy at Margaritaville-Orlando that night but to play there without Jimmy. The official word is the Peter Mayer Band and Club Trini will be performing at Margaritaville, City Walk, Orlando on Friday night March 5 and Saturday night March 6. Times TBA. Thanks to Down East Down West Management

While I'm in the business of thanking people, the Parrot Heads of Central Florida have been extremely helpful with news over the past week or so. They have been instrumental in getting information and especially times to me so that I can share it with you. Remember to look them up when you are in the Orlando area!

Karl Ott passed this along:

I just returned from my first visit to Key West (it was awesome). I'm sure you already know about this, but just in case you don't, are you aware that there is a COBO Pharmacy located on Flemming Street and either Margaret or William Street? I didn't know you had branched out...

Yes, there you will find the finest medicinal herbs that Marvin Gardens used. Also check out our missionary south of the border at cobo.com!

February 25

No different new songs from Beach House On The Moon were played last night in Long Island (setlist available). I'm still looking for a copy/clip of "Math Suks."

February 24

It seems the New York Post article really got everyone's feathers ruffled. The way I see it is why waste your time on writing an angry letter? Just shake your head, shrug, think "you don't know what you're missing," and throw on Livin' & Dyin'. It's not worth getting worked up over-there are many more important things to worry about in life than a poorly written diatribe.

The compilation album Elmopalooza took home the Grammy for Best Musical Album for Children. Jimmy and Kermie the Frog sing "Caribbean Amphibian" on this video/album.

CD Now has an up-to-30% off store-wide sale and free S&H on Grammy-winning titles until March 2.

The New York Post rips Buffett in Tequila Hangover.

Rumored dates for Virgina Beach, Virgina: June 8, the Nissan Pavilion in Manassas, Virginia: June 10, June 12, and Walnut Creek in Raleigh: June 15. Thanks to Chris and Ken Jenkins

February 23

The first of the WCBO Reports is in from this leg of Jimmy's continuous Carnival Tour.

The newest New Year's Eve rumor is that Jimmy will be appearing at Universal Amphitheater between $1,200 - $2,000 per seat.

Rumor has it that Claudia Cummings, ex-Reeferette, sang "Summertime" on a new CD by Swing Cats, entitled Swing Cats. Thanks to Drew Warren

Looks like the rumored Arkansas date fell through. Thanks to Rick Garner

Hootie and the Blowfish will be hosting their fifth annual golf tournament in April in Blythewood, South Carolina on April 12(?). Jimmy has been invited, but there has been no confirmation from him yet. All proceeds go to the S. Carolina Junior Golf Association and the National Minority Junior Gold Association. Such golf pros as John Daly and Ernie Els will be there along with REM's Mike Mills, Goo Goo Dolls' Mike Malinin (?????), and others. Thanks to Larry Bergen

Alex Leist passed this along:

The Jersey Boyz, Alex and Looney, will be auctioning off two backstage passes to the Meadowlands February 26 show at our Pre Concert Party. The Money raised will go to a charity to be named later in the name of our home Parrot Head Club, the Pirates in Paradise.

Radio Margaritaville hints that it will in fact be broadcasting the free March 4th show at Margaritaville-Orlando, and that it's first program once it goes continuous will be Radio Margaritaville--Maui Style.

If anyone, ahem, managed to acquire a recording of any new songs from Beach House On The Moon other than "I Will Play For Gumbo" and "Oysters and Pearls" please contact me. Like "Math Suks" for instance!

Trippin' Out magazine lists Margaritaville as one of its favorite bars in New Orleans.

The setlist from MSG is available.

TropicTraders.com has sent out the packages to the winners from last year's WCBO Reporters contest.

Anyone hungry for some Oysters and Pearls?

Another rumored date: March 5th at Margaritaville in Orlando... Thanks to Jim Thomas

If anyone can help fill in the lyrics, this is what I have so far:

I Will Play For Gumbo
by: Jimmy Buffett

Hey I don't smoke I don't shoot smack
But I got a spicy monkey riding on my back
Don't eat beignets too much sugar and dough
But I will play for gumbo
Hey I will play for gumbo

It started in my grandma's kitchen by the sea
That's where she told me "Jim the first one's free"
It hit me like a brick with some TaeKwonDo
Oh I will play for gumbo
Hey I will play for gumbo

A picture fresh table with the white ?
Good for the body, good for the soul
It's a little like religion and a lot like sex
You should never know when you're gonna get it next

Like I told the people leaving Thibodaux
Hey I will play for gumbo
Oh I will play for gumbo

I'm not talking quesadillas or a dozen Krispy Kremes
Or a pile of caviar that's a rich man's dreams
[insanely slurred lyrics something about drunk or Austin or banana split awesome?]
But I don't know
Oh I will play for gumbo
Hey I will play for gumbo

A picture fresh table with the white ?
Good for the body, good for the soul
It's a little like religion and a lot like sex
You should never know when you're gonna get it next

It could be it's that sausage or those little pink shrimp
Or that popcorn rice that makes me blow up like a blimp
Maybe it's that voodoo from Haiti-O
But I will play for gumbo
Hey I will play for gumbo

Now the Sauce Boss makes his cookin' from the stage
Singing and a-picking for his nightly wage
Swaying and sweating scared to his toes
Playing everyday with the gumbo
Swaying and playing with the gumbo

A picture fresh table with the white ?
Good for the body, good for the soul
It's a little like religion and a lot like sex
You should never know when you're gonna get it next

From midnight in the Quarter to noon in Thibodaux
I will play for gumbo
Hey I will play for gumbo

I will play for gumbo
I will play for gumbo

Note: Thibodaux is a town in Louisiana southwest of New Orleans. Thanks to KC Angel for picking this up, somehow! Bill Wharton is "The Sauce Boss." Bill Wharton is featured on the Margaritaville Cafe CD singing, "Let the Big Dog Eat" and "She's Got a Great Big Fanny." His trademark is cooking a huge pot of Gumbo during his performance and serving it up to the crowd at the end of the night. Thanks to Dave and Sharyn Pittman for figuring this one out.

How about helping with the lyrics to "Oysters and Pearls?"

Oysters and Pearls
by: Jimmy Buffett, Mac McAnally

Lindbergh left Long Island in 1927
He thumbed his nose at gravity
And climbed into the heavens.
When he returned to earth that night
Everything had changed
for the pilot and the planet
Everything was rearranged

We're a pretty mixed up bunch
Crazy you and me
It's written on our rocketships
And (something something) ?scene

How does it happen?
How do we know?
Who sits and watches?
Who does the show?

Some people love to lead
Some refuse to dance
Some people play it safe
Others take the chance

Still, it's all a mystery
This place we call the world
Mostly, there's oysters
Some become pearls

Now Elvis was the only man
from northern Mississippi
Who could shake his hips
And still be loved by
Rent-a-cops and hippies

It's more than DNA
That tells us who we are
Its method and magic
We are all the stars

Some people play to win
Some crash and burn
Some people are (lonely?)
Others watch them turn

Still, it's all a mystery,
This place we call a world
We're both the finest oysters
While some become pearls

Lindbergh left Long Island in 1927

Many thanks to the folks on the Buffett Listserv who have been doing a ton of work of these lyrics. Special thanks to Chris Jarrell for doing the bulk of "Oysters and Pearls."

The Tennessean has a review of the Nashville show. Thanks to Joey Smith

Joe Lombardi sent me this amusing email regarding Jimmy's acquisition of the Citron:

I had a chance to check out Jimmy's reportedly newest acquisition in his seemingly worldwide Monopoly Game.

The building that houses the restaurant "Citron" is located in downtown Sag Harbor, directly opposite the municipal building and diagonally across from The American Hotel (it's restaurant is one of JB's favorites).

The building that Jimmy "bought" (I'll believe it when I see a change in ownership listed on the tax rolls - you can't always believe what's printed in the NY Post) is three stories. The ground floor contains the restaurant and a small store. The two upper floors are apartments.

The building is relatively narrow, about 50' wide at most. The restaurant takes up about 2/3 of the ground floor.

If anyone is thinking that this will become the "Northernmost Margaritaville" forget it. The place is just too small. Especially in light of the new Margaritaville Super Store that opened at Universal. There is only room enough for 10-12 tables and the bar is tiny. Perhaps if the lease is up on the store portion, he could use the entire ground floor but it would probably still be too small.

Which leads to an interesting question. Jimmy has bought a building that will house a restaurant and will have guest rooms that he will have to renovate in a well now resort area. Is this life imitating art? Some of Jimmy's friend from St. Bart's will run the restaurant. Is one of them named Sheila? At least the building comes with city water, so at least Jimmy won't have to stand on the end of Long Wharf and wave down the water barge. And if Jimmy thinks that Norman Paperman had difficulty finding help, wait until he tries to staff the place during our peak summer season.

I have a rough Beach House On The Moon page up in the discography.

Jimmy said at the Nashville show that people wouldn't know the words to "I Will Play For Gumbo" until the day after on the net... well it is one day later than he expected, but here is the clip from the Nashville show :-)

February 21

The Columbus Dispatch has a nice article Followers of Buffett get down and dirty which discusses the local PHiP chapter's charity efforts.

Jim Thomas sent in some good pictures from the lottery for the free March 4th show at Universal Sutdios' CityWalk in Orlando, Florida.

If anyone happened to tape the show last night please email me.

Some dampering on the March 20th Toronto rumor. Apparently the Maple Leafs are scheduled to use the Air Canada Centre that day (night?). I don't know how the logistics would work... Thanks to Lyle Wetsch and the Gardiners

I have added American Storyteller, including CD cover, to A1A Archives.

The Nashville setlist is available. New songs played were "I Will Play For Gumbo"" and "Oysters and Pearls," a Mac McAnally song.

February 20

The New York Times' article Jimmy Buffett, Traveling Salesman of Leisure presents a well-balanced look at Jimmy, albeit no new revelations. Thanks to John Haller

More rumors regarding the March 20th show in Toronto: the new Air Canada Centre is to be the venue. Thanks to Derek Knights

CRB member Peter Mayer will be on News 12 New Jersey, on the program called Jersey's Talking for a live interview and performance. The show airs on ComCast and CableVision networks throughout the state of NJ from 8-9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23rd.

A special second edition of the WCBO News Mailing List was sent out late last night. If you would like to be added to the list, please use the form to your left.

February 19

Radio Margaritaville will reportedly broadcast the March 4 shows live as its grand kickoff, and begin full broadcasting at March 1. If Margaritaville really broadcasts the shows live, the CoB, O will be undoubtedly impressed. Thanks to Chris Hester

MIX105.1 in Orlando will be sponsoring a contest on Sunday, Feb. 21st at City Walk during the ticket lottery for the March 4th concert. "Show your Parrothead Spirit" participants will be judged for the best costume that exemplifies what being a parrothead is all about. The judging will begin around 9 AM. The winner will be presented with two invitations to Jimmy's private party following the outside concert. All participants must have MIX105.1 displayed somewhere visibly on their costume. (Ed note: Club members from The Parrot Heads of Central Florida will be judging the contest and cannot be bought) Lottery line participants are to enter Universal City Walk sans coolers, chairs, barbecue grills, etc. There is a $6 per car parking fee. The balcony of Margaritaville is being extended for the band performance...and 20,000 people are expected to be in the audience. Thanks to Betsy Brown

Rumored tour date: March 20 in Toronto. I have a hard time believing this if Jimmy is to be in Havana on the 21st or shortly thereafter.

Margaritaville has given their homepage a face lift. Personally I like the previous style better. But the good news is they posted a clip of "I Will Play For Gumbo" which absolutely rocks! Hello country rock... goodbye steel pans, at least for one minute.

The response to the WCBO Mailing List continues to be overwhelming. Over 3000 parrot heads have signed up! If you wish to join, simply fill out the form on the left side of the page.

February 18

I'd like to welcome the newest advertiser to the CoB,O: The Original Key West Cigar Factory.

Thanks to Parke Cochran for the clip of "Stars Fell On Alabama" from the inauguration of Alabama's new governor last month at From The Vault.

Rumored tour name: Desert Buffett Storm? Nah...

Two new CoB,O Missionaries have been commissioned: The River City Land Sharks and The Buffett Zone.

I've added "False Echoes," "Happily Ever After," and "Take Another Road" to the Great Chords Compilation, and a couple more additions to WCBO Reporters.

From today's New York Post (page 8) couretsy of tomswid@us.ibm.com:

Jimmy Buffett has bought the building in Sag Harbor, Long Island that housed the Citron restaurant. He'll turn upstairs into guest rooms; the eatery will be taken over by pals from St. Barts.

A Pirate's Treasure $14.69

The Question of the Week has been updated.

From The Vault has been updated with a clip from the December 2, 1998 show in Mobile, Alabama: "Stars Fell On Alabama." Special thanks to Ben Thompson for providing this clip.

I've known Sunny Jim for years and have helped out with his web page. If you have the ability please send a check. I've also known Marcy for just as long and she is trustworthy to send your donation to.

On a lighter note, look for the debut of A1A Awards in the next couple of days. The CoB,O will accept applications for web sites that are worthy.

February 17

Jimmy is an honary committee member for the Rays of Hope, a star-studded event benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation on March 6 celebrating the grand opening of Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

Due to popular demand a new improved Ticket Swap is up and running. Well actually it may still have some bugs but I figure it's worth testing out. Please note that no scalping is allowed.

I fixed an error on the poll results below; Chris Rock, not Samuel L. Jackson was voted to play Root Boy. Don't ask what I ask thinking!

Jimmy was mentioned on CBS's God's New Plan when some guy told his lady about taking her to Key West for marlin fishing and referred to Jimmy Buffett and Parrot Heads. Thanks to Des

February 16

Margaritaville has more notes from Jimmy on Beach House On The Moon, which appears to be the final title.

Jimmy's name is being plastered all over the media for the Havana collaboration in March, ABC news radio to just about every major newspaper.

The Parrot Heads of Central Florida passed this along:

Just got off the phone with the promotions director of MIX105 radio station in Orlando. They are the main promoter. The plan is this..... 6000 pairs of tickets will be given away via a lottery system on Sunday, February 21st. The lottery will begin at 10 A.M. and continue until noon or until 12,000 tickets are gone. The concert will be held on March 4th on the 'balcony' of Margaritaville. They will block off both entrance ways to the front of M'ville and only those with tickets will be admitted to the area. This does not include admission inside the restaurant. There will be a closed private party inside. We don't know the time of the concert yet!

Mark Tolar passed this along:

CBS Sunday Morning did a feature on a singer named Virginia Rodriguez (available at CD Now). She is from Brazil and speaks only Portuguese. She has the most beautiful voice. A large Desdemona kind of a woman. At her American debut the president of MCA records was there to meet her in her dressing room. There next to him was was Jimmy himself. A quick hand shaking-introduction thing and that was about it.

February 15

Jimmy has some more notes from Beach Music On The Moon.

The show at the Margaritaville Cafe-Orlando at CityWalk on March 4 will be a free show. The tickets will be given out by the lottery system on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Cafe at 8:00am (?). Way to go Jimmy! Thanks to Debbie

According the the Miami Herald, Jimmy is one of about 30 musicians to perform in Havana from March 21-28.

February 14

Jimmy's second cousin, Brandon Buffett, is a co-captain on the Ohio state swim championship team.

February 13

Jimmy was honored in Fairhope, Alabama at the original Mardi Gras parade Adventures In Margaritaville. His mother was also featured in the parade.

Eric Larsen posted this to alt.fan.jimmy-buffett:

I just talked to Jimmy a few days ago as he left Margaritaville Records in Key West. The new album is called "Beach House on the Moon" and should be out in mid-May. It sounds a lot like One Particular Harbor. A departure from his more recent stuff.

[note that Margaritaville Records no longer exists; I assume Eric meant Shrimpboat Sound.]

February 12

I came across a cool travel service: TravelNow. They offer airline and hotel reservations and more. Now you can cheaply travel to see Jimmy's shows!

CD Now is offering $10 off any order of $19.99 or more. Now's a chance to expand your Buffett discography or venture into new territory.

In the March/April '99 issue of Lattitudes & Attitudes magazine, a story on the West Coast of Florida spreads a rumor about one of Jimmy's hideaways, the Cabbage Key Inn. Article gives good info on the area as well and most parrotheads would love the mag. Thanks to John Simpson

According to the Feburary issue of ICE magazine, former Margaritaville Records recording artist the Iguanas' album "Sugartown" will be released (through normal distribution chains) on March 23. So it will finally be available through retail record stores more than a year after its release. Thanks to David Dale

This was passed along from geraldturk@aol.com:

Aeveral Parrotthead clubs have organized a pre-concert party for the Feb. 20 show in Nashville at "Have A Nice Day Cafe" from 1-7. The admission will be $6 and St. Somewhere is the entertainment. The place has a capacity of 500.

Drew Warren passed this along:

If anyone's looking for tickets to Jimmy Buffett's Feb. 28 concert at the Fleet Center, you should call George Beaudoin at the Elm Street Station at 624-7000. Call after 4 p.m.

February 11

February 10

"Cheeseburger In Paradise" was part of a gag on former Phoenix Sun Oliver Miller.

Rumored Chicago dates: July... Thanks to Brian Pearson

February 9

Rumored Philly dates: June 3 and 5. Thanks to Mark DeVoe

Dave Pittman pointed out the return of Marvin Gardens:

I am listening to Jimmy's debut on Radio Margaritaville and at 12:35 into the program Jimmy sings Jamaica Farewell while playing a ukelele. In the middle of the song where the solo is supposed to be, Jimmy introduces the "original coral reefer band" Al Vocado on bass, Kitty Litter on Guitar, and Marvin Gardens on piano.

However, we can only wonder if it really is Marvin. The song might be fitting... but let's see if Marvin shows up on the new album.

February 8

Radio Margaritaville has been updated with Jimmy's first programming
venture...

After ripping on Jimmy for a few minutes for selling more 'trinkets' than Jackie the Joke Man, Howard announced that he will be giving away tickets to the show at Madison Square Garden on tomorrow's show. Thanks to Pete Kulp

Jimmy is not currently scheduled to play at JazzFest in New Orleans... Thanks to Heidi Rhea

Rick Lake passed this along:

I just got back from Madi Gras in Mobile Alabama(this is where Madi Gras original started) and the Mobile paper had a front page article about Jimmy's mom ( good picture of her holding a picture of the Havanna Daydreamin album cover) riding a float in a parade who's theme is songs of Jimmy Buffett. A margaritaville float, a SOASOAS float, Cheeseburger in paradise float and others will be in the parade.. Rumor has it Jimmy will be there.

February 7

Jim Thomas has been kind enough to contribute pictures from the new Margaritaville Cafe at Universal Studios' CityWalk in Orlando, Florida.

February 6

Jimmy is mentioned in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer's interesting column First Lady Bob Dole.

Former San Diego Padres player and current coach Tim Flannery used to front a Buffett tribute band.

Reports from Margaritaville-Orlando posted to the Listerv include those from Tom and Zach Thompson, and Jim Thomas sent this directly to WCBO:

Margaritaville actually opened Wed. the 3rd. March 4th is the Grand Opening with Jimmy & the whole band playing.

So, I come back in the office about 4:45, after an errand and there's a call from Traci - the M'ville GM. 'JT - Page me, I've got 2 tickets for you to our mock opening - TONIGHT!' So, I do and she does... 'come out around 9.'

OK, so I call Suzanne, but she doesn't want to stay out that late, 'Why don't you take one of your Parrot Head buddies?' So, I call the PHCF founder and ask 'Jim - Wanna go to the new Margaritaville at 9 tonight?

Tonight? Yeah, tonight!

Y'all ain't gonna believe this place... it's got 3 levels. And an outdoor balcony. I can just imagine settin' up there, boat drink in hand, lazin' on a Sunny afternoon... watchin' the touristas.

Now, this is Universal Studios - a *theme* park, so when they do Margaritaville, they get into the theme. There's a Schooner's mast, the sterns of 2 Deep Sea boats complete with rods & reels in the rocket launchers, with teasers hangin' off the ends. They're passing under a recreation of the Overseas Highway.

Hangin' from the ceiling in the stage area, is a 1/6 scale model of a flying boat called the Margaritaville Clipper - I'm talkin' a 25' wingspan on this thing! To the right of the stage, are a mast & sail with concert videos and Jimmy's rare music videos being projected on the sail. Oh, and just beyond that is the Volcano!

There's another bar built under the volcano - not a real safe place for a bar, 'cuz de volcano - she gonna blow, mon! When de volcano blow, de lava, she come down soft and hot, but don' worry, mon, dese natives be plenty smart. Dey fix up a 55 gallon blender and dey make dat lava flow into him an' dey makes boat drinks!

Another bar has all manner of sea creatures hanging from the ceiling - Whales, Dolphins, Sails and one animal that kinda looks outta place. It's Buddy the Bear... and y'know what, friends & neighbours? He's got that still!

Oh, it is a restaurant... the food was better than either of the other restaurants and the selection is huge, but the drinks were not quite up to par... 'til I said somethin' about it, then they got mo' better. Key Lime Pie for desert. Killer Key Lime Pie, with a fluffy merengue, presented on a 12" plate with confectioner's sugar sprinkles and streaks of rasberry glaze. It looked so purty!

-=jbt=-

PS: Jimmy picked up the check.

February 4

Another tour date starting rumor: June 2 in Philadelphia.

ClixSounds has a Caribbean soundset for AOL 4.0 users.

Tom Rogers transcribed Jimmy's words from last month's inauguration of Alabama governor Siegleman:

"Afternoon, everybody! It's great to be back in Montgomery. I haven't been here in a long time, and usually most of my adolescent life I was being chased by Alabama state troopers, today I got to ride in the car! (laughter from crowd) Things have changed in Alabama! But, uh, I was wondering why they didn't let me fly my plane down the street like those guys? (gestures to something off screen) Uh, it is a pleasure to be here, it's a pleasure to be back home...we just finished a week in Muscle Shoals doing a new album, and, uh, alot of you may know another great talented Alabamian from Muscle Shoals, Mr. Mac McAnally (gestures toward Mac, who smiles and waves), who's given of his time to come down here...and I saw Don down in, ah, Mobile when we did the hurricane benefit, and he asked me if I would come up and do this song, and I'm, uh, honored to be here, and I'm glad I had the time to come do it, so... here's a little "Stars Fell on Alabama" on this tropical day in Montgomery!" (starts singing)

Margaritaville-Universal Studios in Orlando has its soft opening today.

February 3

Rumor has it that Fingers is very excited and proud of the new album. The reason they are using a few different producers is the band wants to leave in the "greasy" sound of the early albums and not the overproduced L.A. crap that has come out in the last few years. The tour is starting the first week of June in Charlotte this year with rehearsals starting in mid-May in Charleston again. Thanks to Bob Douillard

Wonder what else Jimmy has been up to? JB is busy working on some writing for the upcoming filming of the motion picture Where is Joe Merchant? No word on what he's doing exactly other than working on the script... It apparently is taking up a lot of his free time prior to hitting the road again and after the completion of the Beach House on the Moon recording sessions completed. You can order a"Cosmic Muffin" tee shirt from the real life inspiration for Desdemona's rocket ship in the novel, and while you're at it, visit the Cosmic Muffin's home page. Check all this out at Palm Beach Traders

From Drew Warren:

The Denver Post reported 2/1 that Jimmy Bufffett and Cameron were spotted on the club level at the Super Bowl, but he left at halftime. Why'd he leave? No team to root for. Buffett said he's a Saints fan, because he grew up in New Orleans. But he did admit to being a John Elway fan.

Jimmy was quoted as saying "And I don't think this is his last game. Being an older person riding a big wave, I know how that is. He's having fun now. And, John Elway's a Parrot Head."

Dale Greer passed this along:

I've added 36 images of Buffett CDs, posters, videos and publicity photos to the A1A Archives, as well more than 40 new listings, including magazine articles and features.

The track listing for American Storyteller (release date pushed back to 2/9) Thanks to Chris Kraynak:

1. The Christian
2. Ellis Dee
3. Richard Frost
4. A Mile High In Denver
5. The Captain And The Kid
6. Captain America
7. Ain't He A Genius
8. Turnabout
9. I Can't Be Your Hero Today
10. Livingston's Gone To Texas

February 1

Mark Freidman posted this gossip session with Jim Mayer to the Listserv:

I went to Peter Mayer's show in Atlanta last night (awesome!), and Jim Mayer was gracious enough to talk to me for a while about Jimmy's new album. He said it wasn't like any of Jimmy's recent albums, and that it was "eclectic". What he meant by that was the fact that Jimmy has a mix of different types of songs on this album. There are "old rock and roll" songs, "swing" songs, and funny songs. He said overall it will be "a very funny album." I then asked him if it was more of an "acoustic" album, since Jimmy had mentioned going back to his troubadour roots, and he said "no". He also said that Jimmy didn't have time to devote to the last couple of albums due to "Carnival" and other things, so they were more of a collaborative effort, but that Jimmy was able to devote 100% to this album. I then asked him if Jimmy DID put 100% into it, and he said YES. Also, the record executives think this will be Jimmy's best album in a long time, according to Jim. I haven't seen any mention of this yet, but Jim said he co-wrote a song with Jimmy for the album, and it was obvious that he is very excited about it.
